Many of you did not completely follow the directions on the last post, so please read carefully...
Last night your job was to read chapters three and four. Today, your job is to write a comment on this post in which you answer the following questions. (ALL of the following questions!)
- What is the setting of the book? Remember that the setting includes both the location as well as the time - when AND where.
- What do you think is the main character's problem so far? Do you think that this is a minor problem, and that we will find out about a larger problem as we read more? Or - do you think that you know the real main problem this early in the book? Either way, please explain your thinking.
- Read and comment on at least three other student's work. Find someone you disagree with and comment respectfully on their comment. Use evidence from the text (actual quotes from the text with page numbers) in each comment that you make.
