Science: Human Body Schema

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today during science, please take some time to activate your background knowledge for an upcoming human body unit of study. In other words, think about what you already know about the human body.

You'll respond to this post with a comment. In that comment, you'll need to answer the following questions.

1. What are the systems of the human body?
2. What body parts, organs, etc. make up each body system?
3. What does each of the body systems do for you?
4. How do the body systems all work together?

Create a Google Document to draft your response. Then paste your writing into the comment box here on the blog.

In order to complete this assignment, you can use Discovery Education. Be careful - if you spend all of your time on Discovery, you won't get much writing done, so please use your time wisely.

Thanks in advance for pushing your thinking!

~ Mr. Moore and Ms. Vander Velde

  1. Bones protect your organs. Babies are born with 350 bones 150 more than an adult. When you are 25 the average of an adult drops down to 206 bones it might go down but it makes you stronger. Bone - organs that make up a skeleton. Your back bone helps your spinal colem.

  2. Dear Mr. Moore,

    1. The systems in the human body is the skeletal, muscle, respiration, circulation systems.
    2. The systems help us by giving us such as (analogy) respiration is to circulation and skeletal is to muscle.
    3. The respiration help you to breath and the circulation help deliver the air through your body. Your skeleton help you to stay in shape and the muscle help you move your bones to move.
    4. The respiration, and circulation help you breathe and the muscle, and bones help you move around the place.

  5. I Know the kidney the blood so the kidney is like a filter. The average brain has about 100 billion nerve cells. (that’s a lot) Another fact is baby are born with out knee caps, knee cap doesn’t grow until the baby is 2-6 years old. When babies are born they have 300 bones but when your a adult you only have 206 bones. Blood in your body travel 60,000 miles a day. During 24 hours a normal person will breath 23,040.

    1. What are the systems of the human body: There is a digestive system, and a muscular system, and the skeletal system.
    2. The stomach makes up the digestive system, Bones make up the muscular system and the skeletal system.
    3. The digestive system helps break down food into energy nutrients, the skeletal system helps you move and the muscular system helps you move as well
    4. All the systems in your body help you live.

  7. I think some of the systems are Immune System, Skeletal System, Urinary System, Muscular System , Digestive System, Nervous System, and Skeletal System. I think the bones that make up the bones is the immune system. The systems of the body help us
by our organs, heart, lungs, and many others. The systems that work all together is every type of system.

  8. I already know the digestion works. First, the food goes down through your throat.
It then reaches the intestines. After that,it goes through them to reach the end of the body. The Respiratory system is the system that helps you breathe. Your Respiratory helps you put in the new air and push out the old air. The Endocrine system releases hormones that tell your body what to do. Your growth Gland takes those blood cells and helps your body, your growth Gland is in the brain.

The circulatory system is made of the heart, the blood, and the vessels. The nervous system is made of the brain, thespinal cord, and all of the nerves. The other systems are the digestive system, respiratory system, and skeletal system.

The circulatory system is made of the heart, the blood, and the vessels. The nervous system is made of the brain, thespinal cord, and all of the nerves. The digestive system is made up of the mouth, esophagus, stomach, the large and small intestine, which make up the Alimentary Canal. The respiratory system is made up of the nose, trachea, lungs, and diaphragm. The skeletal system is made of the ribs. The system of the body that brings oxygen into the body and releases carbon dioxide is the respiratory system.

The circulatory system transports blood and other fluids throughout the body. The nervous system of the body that carries information to all parts of the body. The digestive system helps you dissolve your food. The respiratory system of the body brings oxygen into the body and releases carbon dioxide. The system of the body that carries information to all parts of the body is the nervous system.

They all help you do actions. They also help you to do important things in life like to walk and talk. They are an everyday part of your life. These systems help you stay alive. Without them we would probably be dead!

    2. Muscles make up the muscular system. The esophagus, intestines (small and large), your mouth, and the stomach make up the digestive system. Bones make up the structure system ranging up to 350 bones for a baby. Adults have less bones.
    3. The structure system gives your body shape. The muscle system helps you move. The digestive system helps you to eat.
    4. All of the systems in the body work together by... Bone give you structure. Muscles are conneced to your bones. Your bones keep the digestive system in place.

  18. Dear Ms. Vander Velde and Mr. Moore,

    1. The systems of the human body are, digestive system, skeletal system, kidney system, and I know that there are a couple more of systems but I don’t quite now them or remember them.
    2. The body parts that make up each body system are, stomach, and I am unsure about the rest.
    3. Each of the body systems help my body by, digestive system, it keeps the food that the body needs in the body and the other food that the body doesn’t needs goes out. (I learned this information from Ms. V during science, also I used my background knowledge from forth grade.) I’m unsure about the others.
    4. The body systems all work together by, helping people have shape and try to help us be healthy (but we have to do most of the work.) I am unsure about what else the body systems work together.

The systems of the human body are: muscular system, digestive system, and skeletal system.
The body parts, organs make up each body system are: esophagus, small and large intestines, stomach, liver, muscles, bones, heart, ribcage, spines, spinal cord, cartilage, teeth, biceps, triceps, lungs. The muscular system help me by the muscles makes up my whole body. Like the muscle tissues and bone marrow. Digestive system helps me to digest the food that I eat. By the help of esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines. Skeletal system forms the shape of my whole body. Like the skull, ribcage, spines, and spinal cord. The body systems work together to make me move. Like, run, walk, jump, and flip.

    2. What body parts, organs, etc. make up each body system? The parts of the body are the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine.
    3. What does each of the body systems do for you?The esophagus helps me to bring the food down to the stomach and the stomach makes it into these things. The stomach brings it the small intestine and finally to the large intestine.
    4. How do the body systems all work together? They all work together to so we can have more room for food.

  22. 1. What are the systems of the human body? The systems in the human body are I know that the skeletal system is one systems because last year we learned about the skeletal system in Ms. Springston’s class. I Also know that the digestive system is one of the systems because today we started to learn about the digestive system. I finally think that the muscular system is one of the systems in the body.
    2. What body parts, organs, etc. make up each body system? I know that Bones make up the skeletal system. I also know that organs make up the digestive system. Finally I know that muscles make up the muscular system.
    3. What does each of the body systems do for you? The skeletal system helps you keep your shape because I know that if we did not have bones we would just be a pile of goo. I also know that the digestive system helps you break up food. I also know that the muscular system helps you move.
    4. How do the body systems all work together? All the body systems work together because all the systems help you in somthing.

  24. Dear Ms. V and Mr. Moore,
The systems in the human body are the muscular system, the skeletal system, and the digestive system. I learned about the muscular system and the skeletal system last year with Ms. Springston.
The muscular system is made up of muscles. Like you heart, your biceps, triceps, and your hamstring. The skeletal system is made up of all your bones. Like your tabla, fibula, pelvis, and your spinal cord. The digestive system is made up of your esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and your large intestine. The muscular system helps us move and pick up things. The skeletal system helps up move. The digestive system helps up digest food.

  25. 1The systems of the human body are digestive systems. The digestive system is when you chew up your food and it go’s down your esophagus.

2The body parts that make up your is esophagus, stomach, small and your large intestines. The small intestines is all round up and the large intestines is around your small intestines.

3The body systems do for me is that they help you digestive your food and so they can go down easier.
