  1. I have learned that birds can do a lot of cool things. For example: birds if they go in polluted water there feathers go silky and they get heavy and can not fly. I wanted to learn more facts and see what would happen if we touched them. I wonder if they would ever do anything with bigger birds? I liked how they respected us and were nice to us. I can not believe that the other grades did not do this. We are so lucky to have this great people come to us. What would happen if they let go of all the birds go? If someone saw a person shot down a bird that is endanger, can they go to prison for that? I hope that they would come back soon.

  2. I learned that the falcon is the fastest bird on the planet its faster than a cheetah. The falcons beak could throw a bird far and its beak could break a spin. When the falcon sees a bird way up high from the sky it goes fast down and gets its pray. Also it grabs it with a beak and throws it really far then the falcon kill's its pray.

  3. Dear Mr. Moore and Mrs. V,
When we were at the gym I loved the why we learned about the birds inclueing how the barn owl flew around. One more thing I loved about the things we learned about the birds was when we got to that little bird. Oh yeah it was really funny when that bird on that lady's glove tried to fly away. I really loved how the owl scared everyone when it flew at the kids right at the people.

  4. I learned about that the barn owl called Aeros that he can here a quarter of a mile. If they have small ears, how can they here from far away? Also Aeros the barn owl can swallow his prey. How can Aeros swallow its prey without choking? Aeros the barn owl can flap his wings and does not make a sound. Barn owls like Aeros live in barns except for Aeros.

  5. I like the Audubon and the wild wings class because they both are nice and when I got to see the little birds ear it was really tiny. I'm shocked that they have so much good hearing. I learned that birds all have different becks and all the same birds are different to kind of. I wish I could learn more about where they live and what they eat and if they just shallow it or do they chew on it. I learned that the parakeet falcon is the fastest animal in the world, It is faster than a cheetah I never knew that was the fastest animal in the world. Why don't they talk about were they live because we will need to know were they live.

I have one question, how do Red Tailed Hawks some times and how do they survive the winter. Are all birds color blind, do they have thermal vision, human eyesight with better and clearer sight or do they have fish eyesight. I wish we could be on and off computers when we went to the gym because we could research the birds the Wild Wings birds they brought out like the Barn owl or the Red Tailed Hawk we would be able to learn more. Next time I wish we could work with the computers.

I learned about birds and that they have hidden facial things like ears, noses, and teeth. Why don't all of the birds in the world have masks and hidden talents. Can all birds fly as high as a plane or can only some. Why do all birds have to hunt can't they just find dead animals and eat out of that.

  8. I like how in the class they tell us how they survive in the wild. I like if they can had more class time to tell more to tell about the birds they show us. I wonder if the farm owl can go at day to hurt. I also wonder how can the farm owl hear under the fur in a long distance. I like how the teacher were respectful to me.

  9. Dear Mr. Moore and Ms. Vander Velde,
Today has been a fun day when Audubon and Wild Wing came to our school. What I wanted to learn more about was how fast does the Barn Owl fly and in how many seconds it could catch it's pray? My other question that I wanted to learn was how small were the ears of the Barn Owl? I remember when I went to Cal-Wood I saw a Red Tail Hawk I think it was looking for food because it was in a group with other Red Tail Hawks.

  10. Dear Mr. Moore and Mrs. Vander Velde this is what I learned and what I ask. I learned that some birds can have weird shapes like a heart in the barn owl. Also I learned that the peregrine falcon is the fastest bird and animal in the world nothing could beat it. I wonder how many species of birds there are in the world? What area or place has the most birds? Can there be about 25 or 50 birds in a area or place?

  11. I would like to know what unique features that the Red Tailed Hawk has. Why didn't they bring in more birds like maybe 4 birds in 3 cars? Why didn't they call more that three volunteers when the Barn Owl was flying? Can the Barn Owl turn his head 360 degrees? Why didn't they let the volunteers hold the birds? Would a Barn Owl eat a human baby? When they where talking about the Barn Owl I was imagining the owl flying above the group of kids and circling them. Why can't we see the owls flying around in the night?

  12. I liked this class so much v\because how we got to learn about the birds and see there features. But why did we learn about those birds? Next time can we learn about other birds? We learned about the birds features and how they look and how they hunt. I liked about how learned and how they hunt a lot because every bird hunts a different way. I also liked how we learned were they live and there special features. I liked this class a lot!

  13. Dear Wild Wings,

I really appreciate you taking out your time to come visit fifth grade and showing us all these kinds of birds. I have learned about where different birds live and what they eat. I think I would love to learn more about the barn owl eyes sight. I would have liked to learn more about that because today during the wild wing lesson when the barn owl was sitting on the lady's hand and was sleeping. It looked like when the barn owl woke up slowly his eyes turned white then to his normal black eyes. I really appreciate you taking out your time to come show fifth grade all the different animals.

    Sincerly: Alaysia

  15. I have learned that birds do a lot of cool things. Like the owl. The owl could move his head right and left. But humans can't do that. That's impossible. I learned a lot from the Audubon. And the teachers were very nice. But I have a question. How old should be the owl to start hunting?
