Being Cool In Middle School

Ladies and Gentlemen,

If you were asked to read an article on NewsELA, here are the directions for you.

First of all, please log in to NewsELA and read the assigned article. You may need a special code from your teacher to join your class.

Next, take the quiz on NewsELA.

Finally, write a blog post on your own blog in which you answer the following questions. You may title the blog post whatever you like, but include the following labels: Reading, NewsELA, Non-Fiction, Reflection

Try to use words from the questions in your answer. Also, please make sure that you use and cite evidence from the text whenever possible to back up your thinking.

Here are the questions you'll need.

1. What are some new words you learned by reading this text? What do they mean?

2. Why is it important to think about the future before you make important decisions as a fifth grader?

3. What are some habits you can begin to work on right now that might help you be more successful in the future?

4. What is your definition of success?

  1. interesting blog, but the font is really hard to read! Verdana or something more traditional would work better.

Defintion of success is being happy inside and out, nothing to do with money.
